Meet Our Team

Jack Labanauskas Co-Founder, Editor-in-Chief

Jack’s childhood in a refugee camp after his parents fled Lithuania in 1945, was an intellectually stimulating environment for studying cultural and ethnic differences—a kind of childhood “boot camp” for personality studies.

As a young man, Jack extensively traveled the world, immersing himself in learning languages and exploring esoteric, spiritual, psychological, and medical subjects. His practice includes Transcendental Meditation and studies of various healing modalities such as Traditional Oriental Medicine, visual diagnosis, macrobiotics, and natural healing techniques.

After the 1994 Stanford Enneagram Conference, Jack realized that he and his then partner, Andrea Isaacs, could best contribute to the community by launching the Enneagram Monthly in March 1995.

SueAnn McKean Editorial Advisor

SueAnn’s upbringing as a child of a US Marine Corps pilot included long stays in Japan and Thailand that laid the foundation for her multicultural perspective. After attending a teacher training course at Maharishi International University, she embarked on her Aikido journey, turning it into a fulfilling career. Currently holding a black belt (6th dan), she continued to share her expertise by teaching at Sofia University, formerly the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP).

In the early ’90s, SueAnn earned certification from Helen Palmer and David Daniels, later becoming a facilitator at their teacher certification trainings. Integrating Aikido principles with the Enneagram, she crafted courses at ITP focused on “Enneagram and the Body.”

During a transformative visit to India in 1990, SueAnn discovered Vedic Astrology, sparking her deep dive into the study of Jyotish. She completed a 6 year intensive course under the guidance of Pundit Sanjay Rath in 2011. She seamlessly combines her Enneagram training and Jyotish astrology understanding in her practice as a Vedic astrologer. Schedule a session with her here.

Antonio Barbato Senior Research Contributor

Antonio, a founding member and president of the Italian International Association for Enneagram Studies (ASS.I.S.E.) for over twenty years, has long focused on applying the

Enneagram to family dynamics. His research explores whether common patterns of environmental stimuli and child responses may underlie the development of the various Enneagram types.

Through collaboration with other researchers and direct engagement with numerous personal childhood stories, Antonio developed the theory of the Originary Wound, identifying it as a key factor in the formation of Passion/Fixation and other systems that shape personality.

In addition to his book The Enneagram of the Original Wound (available in Italian and Spanish on Amazon), Antonio has deeply studied the Enneagram’s Subtypes, resulting in the publication of Enneagram of Personalities: 108 Subtypes, available in both Italian and English on Amazon.

With nearly forty years of experience studying and applying the Enneagram to psychological identity, Antonio has authored numerous essays and articles, many of which have been featured in Enneagram Monthly and other academic journals.
