I never understood how an oral tradition worked until I got involved with the Enneagram. Now I know why, for example, by the time it got to around Paul’s time he was asking people who they learned about Jesus from. Was it Mark, John, Mathew, Luke, Mary? Each collected different memories of him from their communities, and each had a different perspective on what his life was all about.
I find a similar phenomenon happening with the Enneagram...
