Chicago Enneagram History

The Enneagram first appeared in Chicago as part of a two semester course in Religious Experience taught by Bob Ochs, S.J. in 1971. He had just learned it that summer at Esalen from Claudio Naranjo. Helen Palmer was in that same group. So Ochs introduced it that Fall to a class of Jesuit scholastics and a few non-Jesuits. He would call Claudio the night before class and ask for clarifications, more information, etc. Talk about direct transmission!
