Dear Friends of the Monthly,

In July 1994, the first Enneagram conference took place at Stanford University, drawing about 1,500 passionate participants. As the event wrapped up, two key ideas emerged: creating an organization to continue the conversations and a platform for Enneagram enthusiasts to stay connected.

After months of exploring options, two independent branches were born. The International Enneagram Association (IEA) was officially incorporated in December 1994, and around the same time, Enneagram Monthly ( EM) began in Albany, New York. It took nine months after that 1994 conference—just like a “gestation period”—for these initiatives to come to life as “brothers from different mothers,” with the first IEA newsletter and EM issue #1 debuting in March 1995.

Fast forward to this year, as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. We are deeply grateful for the goodwill and dedication of our teams, authors, contributors, and the thousands of subscribers and members who have kept us thriving.
